Our Gotcha! Sport product requires you to "thread" the connector at the end of your cord through a larger opening at the back of the product, proceeding through the smaller opening at the front of the product. The small opening will separate (opening larger than you see on display) when pushing the cord connector through, then the material will close back down to create a channel large enough for your "up to 5 millimeter diameter" cord to slide through the Gotcha! Sport, preventing the connector from inadvertently passing back through the opening. Our Gotcha! Basic product line separates into two pieces, and then snaps back together around your cord, permitting it to slide for easy cord placement and management. The size of the connector at the end of the cord is inconsequential.
We have "tested" Cord Buddy and Cable Wait products with low voltage cords from many different styles of cell phone, laptop, MP3 player, and gaming devices in the market place. The products have worked successfully with all low voltage cords we have located. The following criteria can be used to determine if our devices will work with your cord:
Our Gotcha! Sport device can accommodate most common electronic device cord connectors. Common connectors we are designed to work with have "up to" the following measurements / characteristics:
Our Cord Buddy products are only for use with low voltage cords, 20 volts or less. Do not place a common household extension cord, or any cord which distributes a voltage higher than 20 volts (typical of what is the maximum required to power common personal electronic devices), through your Cord Buddy product. Review your electronic device owners manual, or consult your device manufacturer for specific ratings on your device. Cord Buddy products are not designed to be used on a cord that extends from a power source (wall outlet, power strip, etc.) unless the cord power mechanism has reduced the voltage on the section of the cord being inserted through our devices to 20 volts or less.
No! While some of our products resemble common sports balls, the devices are not toys and should never be thrown, tossed, or otherwise treated like a toy. Your Gotcha! Sport and other Cord Buddy devices are designed to hold an electronic cord in place, and should remain stationary. Our “Cord Buddy” products are not toys.
Currently, sales are only available from our web site. Soon, our products will be for sale in several retail stores. Monitor our web site often. We will post notification of future retail stores and locations where Cord Buddy products will be available for sale!

The magnets used in our Gotcha! products will not adversely impact your electronic devices (cell phones, laptops, hard drives, game boys, MP3 players, etc..) Initial "floppy" style disks of the 80's and early 90's were made of material that was impacted by magnets of this strength. Today's cell phones, laptops, hard drives and other electronic devices are not impacted by these magnets. In fact, many standard cell phone pouches and purses use similar magnets to close their latches. Hard drives in computers also have magnets built into them. Before we made our initial products, we too were concerned about the potential impact of using magnets. Upon researching magnets online, and performing extensive testing which included leaving different brands and models of cell phones resting against these magnets, and later on our product for days... there was and continues to be no negative impact from the magnets. (one caveat... some cell phone manufacturers that leverage magnets on their cell phone pouches do so to automatically turn off the display and put the device into power save mode... if this is a concern, we recommend not placing your phone on top of the Cord Buddy... having it nearby, or next to it does not cause the phone to go into power reserve mode, only if it is resting on top of it and the sensor in the phone is right on top of the magnet) We also have tested the product near computer monitors, and on top of pc's and laptops, and have seen no impact to the structure, performance, or longevity of these devices. Similar to any magnet or electronic device, do not place your credit cards or hotel room "key cards" on top of a Cord Buddy "or" even next to your cell phone... (some of these cards still use "media" material that is similar to the original computer floppy disks.
